Italian style is so signature. Just as American heritage is so easily identifiable, so is the Italian fit. I’d like to see the 1920’s “working on a railroad” look progress into the 1940’s Italian Riviera look. Soft shouldered looks, use of color and prints, slim silhouettes in non-denim fabrications. Andrea Pompilio nailed it with his SS12 collection. I’d like to see this be the direction of American fashion, a different sort of heritage that takes us to a more luxurious place than the railroad tracks.
